Brownfields. What are they?
Any former or current commercial or
industrial site, currently vacant or underutilized and on which there has been,
or there is suspected to have been, a discharge of a contaminant.
The Federal Hill at Perth Amboy project is one where
the residents adjacent to the redevelopment project benefit directly from
the project. The project utilizes numerous grant funds for new sidewalks,
lighting, curbing and road improvements as well as individual property home
improvements. This project is also adjacent to the new municipal complex and
recreation center and offers residents access to the public swimming pool and
other recreational amenities in the center.
